Ron and I both grew up with a love for dogs. As soon as we were married we got a miniature dashhound mix for a pet. In 1979 we purchased an Afghan hound our first AKC Reg show dog. We thought the dog was so beautiful that we had to start showing this pet store prize. After five years of failure we saw a Scottish terrier that won us over at a show, shown by a very distinguish gentleman by the name of George Ward. Ron and I fell head over heels for this wonderful breed and went to one of the top breeders we could find to get a Scottish terrier.

Our first Scotty came from Anstamm Kennels. His name was Anstamm Jolly Roger, thus Scully. Scully was our first champion. We were now hooked on raising and showing Scottish terriers.

Barbary kennels has been fortunate enough to have had some of the best Scotties produced and shown anywhere. It is our intention to keep producing and showing until we can no longer do so. At the time we have only three at the house, Woburn Barbary Iron Man (Junior)  Bronze GCH Barbary Why Why Delilla and GCH Barbary Moriarty HOF (National Rotating Sweepstakes winner 2014)
